Author's Notes: Still AU.. I just realised something that I didn’t get to explain on the first part of this thing, I interpreted Sloth, not as laziness, but as I quoted Dante for, as in not loving God enough, and that is why I made up Raphael’s little suicide attempt.  But the more I read up on the deadly sins, the more I discover the different meanings. For instance Envy is not the same as Greed, it is not a longing for material things, Envy is the same as shadenfreude, or as malice or jealousy.

"Love of one's own good perverted to a desire to deprive other men of theirs."

Dante Alighieri.

INVIDIA

Rosiel felt proud of himself, he had seen it in Raphael’s eyes just how frightened the poor elemental angel had been. Funny how someone who tried to end his own existence can fear death that much or maybe it was that he had later found out what happened to suicide victims in hell.

He closed the door behind him and just stood completely still for a moment. The sun fell though the stained glass windows and bathed Katan’s coffin in the colours of the rainbow. Rosiel sighed. “Katan you fool” he walked slowly over to the coffin and sat down with his back against it. “Why won’t you just stop this? It is most tedious waiting for you to stop being offended” he whispered, but his smile faltered, and his eyes were sad.

The lid of the coffin opened slightly and little tendrils of cord mixed with some organic pulsing strings, almost muscle or maybe a blood vein. It wrapped itself around Rosiel’s ankle and up his leg.

“Sometimes I wonder if you can’t change back” Rosiel whispered “maybe there is too much of me in you” more tendrils came out and gently caressed Rosiel’s cheek. “My son” Rosiel said softly. “Were you ever friendly with the doctor, Raphael?” the tendrils stopped caressing Rosiel’s cheek “I guess you were, though one might ask oneself why, he is a despicable creature” Rosiel shook his head slightly amused. “He thinks I sent him to his death, I could see it in his eyes” he whispered.

The tendrils rattled as a rattlesnake.

“I didn’t really hurt him, Katan. I just played with him” Rosiel said with a slight chuckle. “And if he is such an idiot that he let the Ghouls devour him, then it is really no loss” the tendril that had caressed his cheek withdrew “I have sent six others there to retrieve that journal, and they have all perished trying. Raphael is strong, he can do it. He will have to succeed, since you refuse to return to me, but chooses to slander away your days in that forsaken coffin. You would have done this for me in a matter of days Katan, I just know you would” the tendrils came back and caressed the ivory skin on Rosiel’s cheek.

“Imagine Raphael” Rosiel said softly “Doing your job” an amused laughter filled the room as Rosiel found the mental image too funny.  “Maybe he can seduce and smooch the ghouls to death” he laughed.

Silence followed and Rosiel closed his eyes letting what he imagined to be Katan’s hand caress his skin. “I need that journal Katan, I need it badly, Sevothtarte cannot know of its content” Rosiel took a deep breath, “I will see to it that you are fed” Rosiel got free of the tendrils and stood up. “I will be back tomorrow” he said trying to hide his disgust of the sound it made as Katan withdrew his tendrils into the coffin, it sounded like mechanical slurping.

“I sent a sniffling moron to do a warriors job” he mumbled to himself, “and the warrior is laying dormant as a moron” he sighed dramatically as he opened the door to the crypt and left Katan in the dark.
